Consider a situation in which you're alone at home and the smoke detector goes off. You see smoke coming out from the kitchen and see a small fire. In the event of an emergency like this, what should you do first?

I believe the most sensible thing to do is to call 911, and step outside.

But if you're adventurous like me, I would take the sink hose and spray it down.
