The denominators are the same, so we don't have to worry about that. For the numerators, it's easier if you combine them into one. So:
u + 7 - (-3u + 6)
The negative on the outside of the parentheses shows that we need to distribute a negative 1 to the (-3u) and (6). After we do that, we should get:
u + 7 + 3u - 6.
Then, we combine like terms to get:
4u + 1
That's the numerator, so just put it on the denominator to get (4u + 1)/(u - 2).
