During the change from ice to water, or from water to steam, or from steam to water, or from water to ice, the TEMPERATURE doesn't change.
If you have a gram of water at 32°F (0°C) and you freeze it, you get a gram of ice at the same temp ... 32°F (0°C) . The difference is that you had to take 337 joules of heat out of that water in order to freeze it.
