Answer:
Texas has a unique place in the country's westward expansion. What started out as an Independent land of the natives, switched many sides, eventually becoming a Mexican and a Spanish territory, then becoming a Republic before finally being annexed by the United States,
As a far-flung territory , it was sparsely populated. However, local European immigrants flaunted the state's laws against slavery, especially during Mexican Rule.
Hence, the State had a significant economy dependent on Slavery. This is also way Texas was a key State in the Civil war and a major contributor to the United States of Confederation.
This makes it similar to what happened in Missouri.
Explanation:
The Missouri Crises also know as the Missouri Compromise was a time when the United States wanted to include Missouri as the 26th State in the Union.
This was the same time when Maine was added into the Union as a State as well.
However, both States had different conditions for admission into the Union, while Maine was a free state, Missouri was a slave state.
Interestingly however, Missouri was not part of the Confederation and decided to stay within the Union.
