First drag the positive 4.1z to the other side so you can subtract it from 8.3z
8.3z-4.1z = 10.5
8.3z-4.1z= 4.2z
4.2z=10.5
z=[tex] \frac{10.5}{4.2} [/tex] (10.5 ÷ 4.2)
z=2.5 or [tex]2 \frac{1}{2} [/tex]
