2(x-5)+3x=-75
2x - 10 + 3x = -75
5x - 10 = -75
add 10 to both sides
5x - 10 + 10 = -75 + 10
simplify
5x = -65
divide both sides by 5
5x/5 = -65/5
simplify
x = -13
