Ben forgot that finding the area is not using the diameter, but using the radius. The radius is 1/2 of the diameter, so r=4.5. Then you would use the formula [tex]\pi*r^{2}[/tex], which would be 3.14x4.5x4.5, which is 63.585 cm squared.
