(I am assuming x2 means x^2 or x squared.)
To solve this your goal is to get x by itself. So,
4y = [tex] x^{2} [/tex]
Then square root each side:
[tex] \sqrt{4y} = \sqrt{ x^{2} } [/tex]
then it becomes:
[tex]2y= x[/tex]
So, x = 2y
