When you write an equation you always take the number that is multiplied, in this instance 15. Each Jersey is $15, but you don’t know how many jerseys there are, so u put an ‘x’ in place of jerseys. Then you the 8, which is the final number and doesn’t need to be multiplied.
So the answer is:
15x + 8=y
