The words trumpet, honor, and knelt create a tone of respect.

A trumpet is an instrument that usually makes people think of military funerals, honor is a clear sign of a respectful tone, and when someone kneels to you it is another sign of respect. These words all combine to show that the member of the honor guard was being very respectful to the mother.
